The Accounting and Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in managing daily accounting functions and providing in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. This role combines responsibilities from accounting and financial analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to analyze financial data to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger by recording journal entries, managing account reconciliations, and ensuring proper coding of transactions.
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Support monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are appropriately recorded, and compliant with accounting standards and timelines.
- Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including bank, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, identifying and correcting discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements such as profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to ensure timely reporting to management.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with accounting principles (IFRS) and assist in audits.
- Other tasks or projects as assigned.
Financial Analysis Responsibilities:
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare budgets and financial forecasts by analyzing past financial performance and identifying future trends.
- Variance Analysis: Monitor and analyze variances between actual and budgeted/projected performance, identifying causes for discrepancies and proposing corrective actions.
- Financial Modeling:
Develop and maintain financial models to assess business performance, profitability, and strategic initiatives. - Performance Metrics: Track and analyze key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve business performance, including but not limited to, revenue growth, operating margins, monthly recurring revenue, etc.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Generate ad-hoc financial reports, analyze data trends, and provide actionable insights for senior management to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Management Reporting:
Prepare financial presentations for stakeholders, providing analysis and recommendations to drive performance improvements. - Other tasks or projects as assigned.
Requirements & Competencies
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CFA, or CMA are highly preferred) with a solid knowledge of IFRS.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in accounting and financial analysis or a similar role, with a strong background in both areas. Experience in the technology industry is preferred but not required. Experience in preparing financial reports for senior management or external stakeholders is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks), advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, financial modelling), and presentation tolls (e.g., PowerPoint).
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze and interpret financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial data while working with complex accounting records and reports.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills to address accounting discrepancies, financial variances, and performance gaps.
- Self-Motivated & Independent:
Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, take initiative, and manage time effectively in a remote work environment. - Time Management: Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Works well within cross-functional teams, offering support and contributing to group discussions to meet business objectives.
- Adaptability & Accountability: Demonstrates flexibility in adjusting to changing business needs and priorities while maintaining high performance and accountability for tasks and deadlines.

- Timezone Flexibility: Preference for candidates who can work around the Singapore time zone to ensure smooth communication and collaboration with regional teams.
