Role Overview: Analyst – Data Governance and Management
This position is within the Risk Products & Data Strategy team as an Analyst – Data Governance and Management in the CFR Federated Data Office team. The primary objective of this role is to ensure compliance of CFR data with AEMP70 (Enterprise Data Management Operating Policy), AEMP79 (Enterprise Data Risk Management Policy), and other relevant data-related policies.
The role requires close collaboration with policy owners, governance teams, and product teams to ensure effective risk management and compliance with data policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and oversee Data Risk management and governance requirements in AEMP70 and other related policies (e.g., AEMP08).
- Collaborate with policy owners, enterprise governance teams, and product teams to develop a deep understanding of compliance requirements.
- Streamline data processes related to deletion, retention, sourcing, and usage, ensuring effective Data Risk metric measurement.
- Work closely with CFR Data Stewards, Data Custodians, and Operational Excellence teams to resolve Data Risk Issues and ensure compliance.
- Conduct quality assurance (QA) and validation checks to assess and validate Data Risk levels.
- Perform impact analysis, root cause analysis, and deep-dive analysis for prioritizing and mitigating Data Risk issues.
- Develop executive-level communications and presentation materials for senior leadership and regulatory stakeholders.
- Stay updated on evolving risk management practices and integrate industry best practices into internal processes.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience:
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Computer Science, Engineering, Management, or related field.
- 1+ years of relevant experience in Data Governance, Risk Data Management, or Risk Management.
Technical & Functional Skills:
- Strong understanding of Data Governance, Credit & Fraud Risk Strategy, or Product Management.
- Knowledge of credit and fraud risk principles and familiarity with internal AXP systems and processes.
- Proficiency in data risk management frameworks, compliance, and governance policies.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, and influencing skills.
