Overview
This role is part of MUFG Retirement Solutions’ core platforms. We are looking for a VB/VB .Net Developer to design, implement, and support functional changes as part of project development, core development, or platform support. This role will focus on developing a procedural language, CTL (Capital Translator Language), which is used internally for MUFG Retirement Solutions’ New Zealand market applications.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Focus
- Analyze and translate business requirements into software designs.
- Maintain an application program by designing, coding, and unit testing business code in the new architecture.
- Migrate existing functionality from the old codebase to the new architecture.
- Note: CTL is a bespoke in-house business-oriented development language. Training will be provided for successful individuals.
Operational Management
- Perform development, unit testing, and installation of application programs.
- Review the code prior to handover and completion of unit tests.
- Document development diagrams, code comments, and other artifacts.
- Participate in day-to-day meetings, providing early escalation of issues and input into change management.
- Provide development support during QA testing.
Governance & Risk
- Ensure timely completion of activities by adhering to agreed processes and quality standards.
- Follow system design best practices.
- Adhere to MUFG’s standards, policies, and procedures.
The above responsibilities may change based on business needs.
Experience & Personal Attributes
Experience
- Overall, 3-6 years of programming experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of mainstream development experience in languages such as Visual BASIC, VBA, VBScript, VB.net, or C# is preferred.
- Strong SQL and low-level database skills, along with debugging skills.
- Basic understanding of Development Methodologies like Waterfall or Agile.
