BP is reimagining energy for a net-zero future by 2050. To achieve this, we are establishing a Global Business Services (GBS) Centre in Pune, India, which will drive digital transformation and process excellence across BP’s global operations.
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for invoice processing, payment approvals, reconciliation, and vendor coordination to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions. You will play a key role in enhancing operational efficiency, compliance, and customer experience.
???? Invoice Processing & Payment Management
Ensure all invoices are processed, verified, and approved accurately within the set timelines.
Reconcile payables systems, journals, and financial reports.
Monitor open and overdue invoices, following up with relevant stakeholders.
???? Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with vendors and internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
Ensure compliance with BP’s financial policies and procedures.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
???? Data Analysis & Reporting
Capture and analyze financial data to prepare reports.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
Maintain a high level of accuracy in financial transactions to mitigate risks.
✔ Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
2-3 years of experience in general accounting, invoice processing, or payables operations.
Experience with JDE, SAP, Ariba Guided Buying is an added advantage.
✔ Technical & Business Competencies:
Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Strong understanding of financial workflows and risk management.
Ability to adapt to digital tools and financial technologies.
✔ Soft Skills & Approaches:
Problem-solving & analytical thinking to assess and resolve financial discrepancies.
Decision-making & influencing skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
Ability to work in UK/US shifts and manage cross-time zone communications.
Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on process accuracy and efficiency.
