Role Overview

As the Finance & Reporting Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role by directly supervising 1-4 colleagues. You will support accounting and reporting functions for the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, including aspects such as TLS cost of goods sold, sales, prepaid amortization, other liabilities, and accounts receivable. You will also drive a strong control and compliance environment, ensuring adherence to US GAAP, AXP Finance Policies, and protocols.

In this role, you will collaborate with multiple stakeholders—from Segment and LE Controllership to external auditors and Tax groups—to deliver accurate, timely financial reporting while championing process automation, data analytics, and business insights.


Key Responsibilities

  • People Leadership:
    • Supervise and lead a team of 1-4 colleagues.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
    • Support accounting and reporting for the P&L and Balance Sheet (e.g., TLS cost of goods sold, sales, prepaid amortization, other liabilities, and A/R).
    • Focus on data interpretation for analytics and business insights.
  • Control & Compliance:
    • Maintain and enhance a strong control and compliance environment in line with US GAAP and AXP Finance Policies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Work closely with internal teams such as Segment and LE Controllership, LFO, Business Finance, External & Internal Auditors, Tax, and GSM to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Drive efficiency and effectiveness through automation and process redesign initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvements and challenge the status quo.
  • Project Management:
    • Independently manage projects from development through to implementation while supporting transformation and analytics initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Academic

  • Qualified accountant (CA, ICWA) or MBA in Finance with at least 5+ years of post-qualification experience
    or
  • 6 to 10 years of post-qualification experience with B.Com/M.Com/CA Intermediate.

Additional Skills & Experience

  • Strong accounting (US GAAP) & reconciliation knowledge with a control-oriented mindset.
  • High proficiency in MS Office, Oracle Applications, Essbase, TM1, and other AXP systems.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience handling large datasets, trend & variance analysis, and generating meaningful insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong presentation and relationship management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and lead teams effectively.
  • Proven track record in driving continuous improvement and managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Agile, detail-oriented, and a quick learner who thrives in ambiguous environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise or prior exposure to GSG functions will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrable experience with business intelligence and analytics tools.
