Role Overview: ICS Operational Excellence Reporting CoE Specialist

The ICS Operational Excellence Reporting Center of Excellence (CoE) is responsible for designing, implementing, and assessing the operational risk framework within International Card Services (ICS). This is done in alignment with American Express’s risk policies and in compliance with risk management guidelines and regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will be responsible for producing and publishing business conduct metrics reports for senior leadership and compliance teams while ensuring accuracy and delivery within specified Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will work closely with Business Self-Testing teams and other ICS units to maintain the integrity of management information systems (MIS) and reports.


Key Responsibilities

Reporting & Analysis

  • Deliver periodic and ad hoc reports related to business testing and monitoring to enhance management’s understanding and support control improvements.

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analyses to develop dashboard reports for senior leadership, compliance teams, and banking partners.

  • Generate insights from data to assist business units in mitigating identified operational risks.

  • Produce and maintain the Monthly Dashboard and Scorecard, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across all reports.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with Business Self-Testing teams and ICS departments to gather and validate reporting data.

  • Provide comprehensive and timely updates to leadership, facilitating informed decision-making.

  • Communicate insights and trends effectively across multiple levels of leadership.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure the timely delivery of accurate, high-quality reports that meet all compliance and business requirements.

  • Support ad-hoc reporting requests and new initiatives as needed.

  • Uphold American Express’s commitment to operational integrity and regulatory compliance.


Critical Factors to Success

  • Accuracy & Quality: Ensure all reports maintain data integrity and meet compliance standards.

  • Time Management: Deliver reports on time, meeting preset deadlines consistently.

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to derive actionable insights from complex datasets.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate/Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Tableau, Excel (including VBA), and PowerPoint.

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage across multiple leadership levels.

  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to manage and present complex data with precision.
