Role Summary

As a Measurement & Analyser Systems Engineer, you will provide critical engineering expertise in fiscal and non-fiscal metering and measurement systems across bp's production assets. You’ll work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure data integrity, equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver expertise in all aspects of Measurement & Analyser Systems (M&AS) across bp operations and projects.

  • Design and size meters in accordance with bp and international standards (API, ISO).

  • Ensure compliance of custody transfer, allocation, and environmental measurement with regulatory/commercial standards.

  • Conduct measurement uncertainty analysis and performance monitoring of measurement data and equipment.

  • Identify and resolve mismeasurement issues, and support hydrocarbon accounting.

  • Guide maintenance and operation of metering equipment.

  • Update equipment maintenance plans and procedures.

  • Drive operational improvements and compliance through risk assessments, design reviews, and lifecycle operability.

  • Support cybersecurity compliance across regional measurement systems.

  • Participate in risk-related activities such as HAZOPs, HAZIDs, MoCs, Bowties, and LOPA studies.


Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Degree in Science or Engineering (relevant field).

  • 8–12 years of experience with at least:

    • 5+ years in measurement engineering/science.

    • 8+ years in upstream/midstream/refining/engineering design companies.

  • Strong understanding of API, ISO standards, and fluid dynamics (including multiphase flow).

  • Proven cross-functional team collaboration.

Preferred:

  • Professional accreditation.

  • Experience using statistical tools for uncertainty estimation.

  • Exposure to hydrocarbon accounting systems.

  • Background in remote or hybrid team environments.

  • Track record in risk and process safety management.
