Position Description:

Business Title: Global Data Governance Senior Specialist
Travel: 10% Travel to Delhi


What You’ll Do:

BCG (Boston Consulting Group) has established a cross-functional team, the Global Data Product Portfolio (PP), to create foundational global data capabilities, products, and assets with the aim of:

  • Enabling better decision-making

  • Generating new insights

  • Achieving operational excellence

  • Minimizing firm risk

As part of this, the Data Governance team ensures that data is findable, understood, trusted, managed, and useable while adhering to compliance standards.

You will work closely with the Data Governance Director and Data Stewards, focusing on driving HR Data Governance across the organization, improving Metadata Management, fostering cultural awareness, and implementing Data Quality processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the HR Data Governance Strategy and implement key governance capabilities, such as Metadata Management, Data Lineage, and Data Quality.

  • Promote cultural change by raising awareness about data governance principles and coaching stakeholders.

  • Facilitate Data Governance workshops and forums.

  • Develop and implement proactive Data Quality processes.

  • Support Data Access controls for global data products.

  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and BI&A teams to identify opportunities and ensure data governance alignment.

  • Define, track, and report on KPIs for Data Governance maturity and data quality.

  • Proactively escalate risks and develop mitigation plans.


You’re Good At:

  • Articulating the vision for data governance and its specific business value across the organization.

  • Identifying gaps and opportunities within HR data and aligning global data definitions and flows.

  • Implementing global Data Governance requirements and controls.

  • Leading activities related to HR Data Governance, including Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Master Data Management, and Data Quality.

  • Sharing and adopting best practices in Data Governance, Stakeholder Management, Project Management, and Change Management.

  • Developing frameworks and KPIs to improve Data Quality, Data Security, and Governance maturity.

  • Communicating the importance of Data Governance to the organization.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree (preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields).

  • 5-7 years of experience in data-related roles (e.g., Data Management, Data Governance, BI & Analytics, CDO Office).

  • Experience with HR data is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Strong understanding of Data Governance best practices (such as DAMA’s DMBoK, CDMP, EDM Council’s DCAM).

  • Knowledge of Data Strategy and management concepts, including Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, and Data Quality.

  • Experience with Data Governance tools like Data Catalogs (e.g., Talend Data Catalog) and Data Quality tools.

  • Solid understanding of HR systems (e.g., Workday, iCIMS, eightfold.ai, Oracle, SAP) and data technologies (e.g., Snowflake) is beneficial.

  • Strong customer and business focus with the ability to form effective relationships and resolve conflicts.
