As a Strategic Planning & Reporting Analyst, you will be a key member of the Strategic Planning and Development (SP&D) team within Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS). Your primary responsibility will be overseeing strategic planning, performance reporting, and project management of control and compliance activities across the Latin America and Canada Region (LACC).
This role involves providing accurate, timely reporting, delivering strategic insights to leadership, and supporting decision-making processes through comprehensive data analysis. It requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.
GMNS is responsible for:
Signing and maintaining merchant relationships for American Express card acceptance.
Managing merchant acquirers, processors, and the card acceptance network.
Processing card transactions and settling with merchants.
Offering marketing information, fraud prevention services, and loyalty coalition programs.
The GMNS Strategy, Planning, and Development (SP&D) team works closely with the GMNS Group President and General Managers, focusing on:
Strategic planning and reporting.
Enabling merchant acquisition and client management.
Business development and investment optimization.
Compliance and control management.
1. Reporting & Analysis
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for senior management and stakeholders.
Analyze results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
2. Performance Monitoring & Insights
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights.
Develop dashboards and data visualization tools to support decision-making.
Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
3. Process Improvement & System Optimization
Streamline reporting and planning processes for improved efficiency and accuracy.
Implement best practices for planning and analysis across the region.
4. Control Management
Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
Conduct Key Risk Indicator (KRI) audits on a quarterly basis for the LACC region.
Support audits and regulatory reviews by providing relevant documentation.
Manage and maintain standard operating procedures by creating data repositories.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Programming, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
1+ years of experience in financial planning, reporting, or a related role.
Proven analytical skills, including the ability to consolidate large data sets and present them in executive reports.
Strong communication and presentation abilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
Resilience, energy, drive, and flexibility.
Technical Proficiency:
Programming languages: SQL, Python, MLS.
Software development and task automation capabilities.
Expertise in data analysis, data visualization, and debugging.
Strong problem-solving skills, logical and abstract thinking.
Ability to propose programming/coding solutions for complex business requests.
