Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Designer (Mechanical Draftsman) specializing in the oil and gas sector. This role focuses on the design, detailing, and modeling of Incinerator packages, including equipment, piping, support structures, and pipe racks. The ideal candidate should have strong proficiency in CADWORKS or equivalent CAD software and work closely with engineering teams to ensure high-quality designs and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Analysis & Design:
- Analyze project specifications, focusing on layout and 3D modeling of Incinerator packages.
- Design and detail mechanical components, including equipment, piping, support structures, and pipe racks.
Drafting & Detailing:
- Prepare various technical drawings, including parts, assemblies, sectional profiles, and multi-view drawings.
- Generate General Arrangement (GA) drawings, foundation drawings, fabrication drawings, and piping isometrics.
3D Modeling:
- Utilize CADWORKS or equivalent software for 2D and 3D modeling of mechanical systems and structures.
- Work closely with the lead engineer to ensure designs meet project specifications.
Collaboration & Coordination:
- Attend model/design review meetings with global offices, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Address and resolve comments/issues related to models and drawings to align with client requirements.
- Coordinate with the design team to deliver quality outputs within project deadlines.
Quality Control & Standards Compliance:
- Ensure all designs comply with industry codes, standards, and dimensional specifications.
- Maintain high levels of quality control and accuracy in all design deliverables.
Additional Duties:
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the engineering and design management teams.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience & Education:
- 10-15 years of experience in mechanical drafting/designing.
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience in the oil and gas sector.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CADWORKS or equivalent CAD software.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, piping, support structures, and pipe racks.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, dimensional standards, and industry best practices.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex specifications.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience in design review processes and client interaction.
