Position Overview

The Tutor/Teacher will provide academic support within schools, focusing on remedial education to address learning gaps and improve student retention. The role requires teaching Mathematics, Science, and English, while also engaging with parents and communities to promote education awareness.


Key Responsibilities

A. Academic Support Within Schools

???? Targeted Remedial Learning
✔ Conduct remedial classes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English.
✔ Design and implement personalized learning plans for students.
✔ Assist with test preparation through content review, practice tests, and study techniques.

???? Confidence Building
✔ Facilitate activities to boost students' confidence and motivation.
✔ Provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.

???? Classroom Support
✔ Collaborate with schoolteachers to align remedial lessons with the regular curriculum.
✔ Monitor and assess students’ academic progress to meet learning objectives.


B. Community Engagement & Student Empowerment

???? Remedial Education
✔ Address academic gaps through focused remedial sessions.
✔ Conduct spoken English and communication skill workshops.
✔ Integrate career preparation and life skills into educational sessions.

???? Community Engagement Activities
✔ Conduct door-to-door surveys to identify and enroll out-of-school children.
✔ Organize awareness sessions with parents on the importance of education.
✔ Engage with communities to ensure children are enrolled in appropriate programs.

???? Empowering Students
✔ Provide personalized mentorship for students’ academic and personal growth.
✔ Work closely with mentors to ensure holistic student development.


C. Monitoring & Reporting

???? Progress Tracking
✔ Maintain accurate academic records for each student.
✔ Use monitoring tools to evaluate remedial sessions and identify areas for improvement.

???? Reporting
✔ Submit attendance records for remedial classes.
✔ Prepare reports on home visits, parental meetings, and community-based learning (CBL) activities.

???? Quality Assurance
✔ Ensure adherence to program quality standards in collaboration with mentors.
✔ Participate in evaluations and feedback sessions to enhance program effectiveness.


Qualifications & Skills

???? Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Mathematics.
Master’s degree (Preferred) in a relevant subject.

???? Experience:
1-2 years of teaching experience, especially in remedial education or community outreach.
✔ Prior experience working with underserved schoolchildren.

???? Skills & Competencies:
✔ Proficiency in Mathematics, Science, and English.
✔ Strong mentoring, communication, and interpersonal skills.
✔ Familiarity with MS Word & Excel for record-keeping and reporting.
✔ Ability to conduct community outreach and collaborate with stakeholders.
