Role Overview

As an Associate – Digital Product Operations (Certification Operations), you will be responsible for onboarding new customers to the American Express Merchant and Partner Networks, as well as deploying new products with existing partners. This role requires technical expertise, customer engagement, and project management skills to ensure smooth connectivity and certification.

You will collaborate with various external partners (e.g., acquirers, issuers, merchants, processors) and internal stakeholders to facilitate seamless integration with American Express payment networks.


Key Responsibilities

  • Onboard and certify external customers through the Self-Certification Program to enable seamless data exchange as per American Express specifications.
  • Provide consultation and support to external customers regarding certification processes and tools.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure proactive understanding of the demand pipeline.
  • Use expertise in Amex payment products, platforms, and standards to guide customers through the certification process.
  • Act as a liaison between external business partners and internal technology teams to facilitate network connectivity and solution implementation.
  • Support updates and enhancements to tools, processes, and documentation in response to regulatory changes, new products, and industry advancements.
  • Participate in cross-time-zone calls and testing to support regional and global projects.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Work Experience:

  • 5–8 years of experience in payment networks, transaction processing, and certification.
  • Strong understanding of Network Specs, Proprietary Specs, EMV, Contactless, POS products, and certification tools.
  • Prior experience in project management and handling multiple high-profile projects in a fast-paced environment.

Academic Background:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate degree (B-Tech/Engineering preferred).

Functional & Technical Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with external business partners and internal cross-functional teams at both technical and business levels.
  • Strong relationship management skills to influence and collaborate across multiple international territories.
  • Intellectual curiosity and problem-solving mindset to push for customer solutions with internal stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a multi-time-zone environment.
  • Strong self-motivation and results-driven approach, with the ability to work independently in a matrix organization.
  • Ability to understand technical specifications, validate test results, and troubleshoot certification issues independently.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications and networking components such as TCP/IP, SFTP, VPN, and Web Services is an added advantage.
