Role Overview: Backend Engineer
As a Backend Engineer, you will:
✔ Own and deliver large, complex projects end-to-end.
✔ Ensure timely delivery of product features.
✔ Be a technical leader, guiding teams and troubleshooting issues.
✔ Drive performance, quality, and availability improvements.
✔ Participate in code reviews, architecture, and design discussions.
✔ Mentor junior engineers and establish best coding practices.
✔ Support hiring initiatives and help build a top-quality team.
Key Responsibilities
???? Technical Execution
✔ Lead development in dynamic programming languages (preferably Ruby on Rails).
✔ Design scalable and high-performance web applications.
✔ Optimize database modeling and query performance.
✔ Work with cloud technologies (preferably AWS) and CI/CD workflows.
✔ Implement web security best practices against XSS, SQL injection, etc.
???? Collaboration & Leadership
✔ Participate in stakeholder discussions and drive key decisions.
✔ Work with cross-functional teams to enhance the platform.
✔ Advocate for incremental improvements and refactoring.
???? Exploration & Innovation
✔ Stay updated with new technologies and be a subject matter expert.
✔ Contribute to open-source projects and internal knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Experience
???? Qualifications:
✔ 2+ years of experience in web-based product development.
✔ Strong programming skills in Ruby on Rails or similar MVC frameworks.
✔ Expertise in relational databases, query optimization, and bottleneck detection.
✔ Experience with AWS cloud services and CI/CD tools.
✔ Proven ability to build scalable, distributed systems.
✔ Passion for clean code, best practices, and automated testing.
???? Nice-to-Have Skills:
✔ Experience with React.js or other frontend frameworks.
✔ Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized deployments.
✔ Understanding of web security best practices.
