Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10+ years of experience promoting database solutions or data management software.

  • Experience in territory planning, pitching, and executing a business strategy.

  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functional teams across all management levels.

  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of exceeding strategic business goals in a sales role.

  • Experience supporting executive relationships and developing new territories/accounts.

  • Ability to drive customer success, adoption, and expansion.

  • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including technical leads, procurement, and legal.

  • Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB) and cloud deployment options.

  • Experience in an overlay sales role.

As a Database Sales Specialist, you will grow Google Cloud’s operational database business by establishing and expanding customer relationships. You'll guide clients through key business use cases, demonstrate product value, and lead go-to-market strategies. You will act as the solutions lead across internal teams, shaping the future of cloud database technology adoption.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Position databases as a core focus in account strategy and sales conversations.

  • Develop regional and segment-specific plans for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) database services.

  • Partner with leadership teams to define penetration and growth strategies for database services.

  • Build trusted advisor relationships with clients to understand business drivers and promote the appropriate Google Cloud database solutions.

  • Manage complex sales cycles and influence long-term customer strategy.

  • Meet or exceed sales quotas while ensuring accurate forecasting and business reporting.

  • Collaborate with internal teams including sales, customer engineering, marketing, and customer success to create a seamless client experience.

  • Activate database-specific partner support and ensure teams have access to relevant resources.
