???? About the Role: Database Sales Specialist

As a Database Sales Specialist, you will drive Google Cloud’s operational database business by expanding relationships with new and existing customers. You’ll work cross-functionally to deliver tailored solutions, lead strategic go-to-market plans, and help organizations leverage Google Cloud’s cutting-edge database technologies.


???? Key Responsibilities

  • Make Google Cloud databases a strategic focus in sales conversations and account strategies.

  • Develop country- and segment-specific business development plans in collaboration with regional leadership.

  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with key customers, understand their tech footprint and business goals.

  • Manage complex sales cycles and influence long-term strategic IT decisions.

  • Meet or exceed sales quotas, and contribute to strategic territory planning, forecasting, and reporting.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams: account managers, engineers, customer success, marketing, and partners.

  • Work with the partner ecosystem to activate database-specific partner support for customers and internal teams.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in database solutions or data management software sales.

  • Proven ability in business planning, pitching, and territory management.

  • Experience engaging with C-level executives and stakeholders across different business levels.

  • Experience managing agreements or strategic partnerships.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in achieving/exceeding strategic business goals.

  • Experience in developing new territories/accounts and supporting customer adoption and expansion.

  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration including technical, legal, and procurement teams.

  • Strong knowledge of database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and cloud deployment models.

  • Experience working in an overlay sales role, supporting broader teams.
