Job Summary:

As the Director of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), you will lead a cross-skilled team of site reliability engineers to ensure the optimal performance and scaling of our eCommerce platforms and IBM Sterling Order Management System (OMS). This role focuses on continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and high stability of our global eCommerce environment, while fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Management:
    Lead and manage a cross-functional team responsible for supporting, maintaining, and scaling eCommerce platforms and custom-built microservices including inventory management, payment processing, order management, and more.

  • Technical & Functional Leadership:
    Provide expertise in eCommerce platforms, IBM Sterling OMS, and supply chain applications. Contribute to product design, solution design, business reviews, and vendor assessments.

  • Strategic Planning & Roadmap Creation:
    Develop and execute a roadmap for operational efficiencies, ensuring supportability of new features and high stability.

  • Issue Management & Operational Efficiency:
    Take a hands-on approach in fixing issues, proactively identifying patterns for resolution, and ensuring leadership communication regarding priority issues.

  • Collaboration Across Teams:
    Work closely with Engineering, DevOps, Product, and Business teams to enhance system performance, optimize workflows, and improve product uptime.

  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:
    Develop and enforce strategies to minimize service interruptions and prepare for peak volume days.

  • Automation & Monitoring Improvements:
    Apply technology to enhance monitoring, alerting, and issue resolution processes.

  • SLA & Issue Management:
    Establish and enforce SLAs, issue categories, and triage processes, ensuring teams are accountable for meeting these metrics.

  • Team Mentorship & Development:
    Mentor senior engineers and managers, fostering a growth-oriented and collaborative culture. Lead recruitment strategies to build a strong, diverse team.


Required Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • 12+ years of technology experience in design, development, testing, and support activities, with a focus on eCommerce, supply chain, or enterprise-scale environments.

    • 5+ years of managerial experience in similar functions.

    • Proven track record of managing and scaling high-performing SRE or operations teams.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Strong expertise in eCommerce platforms, IBM Sterling OMS, and supply chain applications.

    • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Splunk, Datadog, New Relic).

    • Experience with incident management tools (e.g., PagerDuty, Opsgenie) and root cause analysis.

  • Educational Qualification:
    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • Additional Skills:

    • Strong understanding of supply chain processes, order management, and logistics.

    • Ability to prioritize tasks and drive teams towards achieving goals in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

    • Passion for creating a customer-first experience with a focus on high reliability and uptime.
