???? About the Role
As a Drilling Engineer, you’ll support bp’s global drilling operations from Pune. You will plan and deliver well engineering solutions, ensure operational compliance, and provide engineering support to enable the safe and cost-effective delivery of wells.
???? Key Responsibilities
-
Deliver rigorous well engineering to support safe, efficient, and compliant well construction.
-
Ensure adherence to bp Operating Management System (OMS), engineering practices, and local regulatory requirements.
-
Lead the timely delivery of well designs, programs, equipment readiness, and drilling program documentation.
-
Coordinate with service providers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful well execution.
-
Conduct risk assessments, identify contingencies, and recommend mitigations.
-
Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, post-well reviews, and best practices.
-
Support field operations, mobilization activities, and rig work instruction.
-
Develop and manage well cost estimates, and monitor costs during operations.
-
Use BP drilling engineering software to develop solutions and designs.
-
Coach and mentor junior engineers and assist with team leadership when required.
-
Maintain strong contractor relationships and oversee contractor performance improvements.
???? Skills & Expertise
Required Experience:
-
6+ years of domestic/international experience as a Drilling Engineer
-
Offshore drilling engineering experience (planning & execution)
-
Supervisory-level Well Control Accreditation (e.g., IADC, IWCF)
Technical Proficiency in:
-
Tubular design theory and StressCheck
-
Wellbore trajectory design using COMPASS
-
Drilling fluids & cement design
-
Cement modeling, DrillBench, and WellPlan hydraulic simulations
-
Wellbore positioning and trajectory planning
???? Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a relevant technical field
