You will work on Aladdin, BlackRock’s powerful investment operating system used by both internal teams and external financial institutions. Aladdin combines risk analytics, portfolio management, trading, and operations tools into a single platform that drives informed decision-making worldwide.
Aladdin Engineering
Our team within Aladdin Engineering develops cutting-edge technology solutions that intersect data, people, and investment decision-making. We manage trillions in assets, process millions of transactions daily, and execute high-performance risk calculations.

Responsibilities

Work in a multi-office, multi-country environment.
-
Design and build high-efficiency, fault-tolerant, concurrent software systems.
-
Contribute to the development of Aladdin’s global, multi-asset trading platform.
-
Collaborate with product management and business users to define product roadmaps.
-
Develop innovative solutions, identify roadblocks, and address complex challenges.
-
Follow quality engineering practices (unit testing, regression testing, DevOps, code reviews).
-
Provide level-two production support to ensure system resilience.
-
Foster team collaboration and leadership, encouraging a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications
Required:
-
Education: B.E./ B.Tech./ MCA or equivalent engineering degree from a reputed university.
-
Experience:
-
4+ years in Java backend technologies.
-
Strong foundation in core Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
-
Experience in message brokers and relational databases.
-
Deep understanding of concurrent programming and distributed application design.
-
Knowledge of software engineering tools: Git, Maven, unit testing, mocking frameworks.
-
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and software architecture design skills.
-
Ability to translate business challenges into technical solutions.

Nice to Have (Opportunities to Learn):
-
Expertise in SQL/NOSQL databases (MS SQL, Sybase, Cassandra, Redis).
-
Experience with cloud-native design patterns and event-driven microservices.
-
Familiarity with Kafka, MongoDB, Ignite, Redis.
-
Exposure to REST APIs, Kafka, gRPC, and microservices architecture.
-
Experience with Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
-
Knowledge of DevOps tools (Docker, Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes).
-
Exposure to AI projects or research environments.
-
Frontend experience with React, Vue.js, or Angular is a plus.
Our Hybrid Work Model
BlackRock’s hybrid model promotes collaboration while ensuring flexibility. Employees typically work 4 days in the office and 1 day remotely. Some roles may require additional in-office presence.
