About the Role: Full Stack Software Engineer (Aladdin Engineering)

As a Software Engineer at BlackRock, you will be part of Aladdin Engineering, our proprietary investment operating system that integrates sophisticated risk analytics, portfolio management, and trading tools on a single platform.

Aladdin is used globally by BlackRock and external financial institutions, supporting millions of financial instruments and trillions in assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Aladdin’s global, multi-asset trading platform to improve investment decision-making.

• Collaborate with international teams on Java full-stack development projects.

• Design and deliver scalable, high-performance software solutions that are fault-tolerant and concurrent.

• Work closely with product managers & business users to define and execute the product roadmap.

• Apply agile methodologies to prioritize, design, and implement technical solutions efficiently.

• Ensure software resilience & stability through code reviews, unit testing, regression testing, and DevOps practices.

• Lead and mentor development teams, fostering an inclusive and diverse culture.

• Promote innovation and continuous learning within the team.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech./MCA or other relevant engineering degree from a reputable university.

• 4+ years of full-stack development experience.

Technical Skills & Experience

✅ Strong foundation in Core Java, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and design patterns.
✅ Proven experience in full-stack development (front-end & back-end).
✅ Expertise in Java, Spring, Hibernate, TypeScript, JavaScript, Angular (2.0+), React, and Microservices.
✅ Proficiency in Open-Source technology stack (Spring, Hibernate, Maven, JUnit).
✅ Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Apache Cassandra).
✅ Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
✅ Interest in finance and investment processes (exposure to Fixed Income Portfolio Management is a plus).
✅ Experience in leading development teams and managing technical quality.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

• Cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud

• DevOps tools: Azure DevOps

• Distributed technologies: Kafka, MongoDB, Ignite, Redis

• Optimization & Algorithm Development: Strong quantitative and algorithmic skills

• AI & ML: Experience in AI-related projects or working in an AI research environment

• Agile & Open-Source Development: Experience working in agile teams or contributing to open-source projects
