Job Description Summary

As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for executing design programs while managing hardware for the GE90/GP HPT (High Pressure Turbine) module. Your role will involve managing the lifecycle of the engine components, including solving field issues, resolving quality concerns, conducting root cause analysis (RCA), cost reduction, and supporting services contract profitability. Additionally, you will collaborate with various teams to meet business needs and provide solutions within your expertise area.

You will report to the GE90/GP Aft Engine LCE Design Sub-Section Manager at GE Aerospace Bangalore Engineering Center and will collaborate with teams from Engineering, MRO, supply chain, CEO, and services organizations.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Independently own and execute GE90/GP HPT Rotor programs that require design, analysis, testing, or integration to meet business standards and product requirements.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for sourcing, supplier, fleet, repair, or customer queries from the LCE (Lifecycle Engineering).
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects, adhering to engineering policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders to provide project status updates, business insights, and development progress.
  • Support shops in resolving departure records and reducing shop visit costs.
  • Establish strong connections with cross-functional teams, including Shop, Supply Chain, Repair, MAE, CTPs, and Shop Technical Teams, to achieve desired outcomes for the module.
  • Demonstrate clear thinking and strong technical articulation while managing handoffs between organizations.
  • Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules, and customer commitments.
  • Use digital tools and analyze data to drive actions related to ESM (Engine Shop Maintenance) limit extensions, special procedures, etc.
  • Embrace Lean methodologies for continuous process improvement in day-to-day operations.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative work style and team-oriented behavior, maintaining proactive internal and external communication.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or an equivalent field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Aviation Engines or Turbo machinery Engineering (design, analysis, systems, services).
  • Exposure to rotor design and manufacturing processes will be an advantage.
  • Strong design creativity and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent project management skills, including coordination across cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

Desired Characteristics

  • Familiarity with High Pressure Turbine modules.
  • Experience in rotating parts analysis, design, and manufacturing.
  • Previous experience in component hardware ownership is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
