Role Overview
We are looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design, integration, and training of Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI technologies to enhance our product capabilities and improve customer experiences. You will mentor and guide a team of developers, help them grow professionally, and align your strategic decisions with HSBC’s AI agenda. This position offers an opportunity to drive innovative AI solutions while collaborating with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Lead AI Integration: Design and integrate LLMs and AI technologies to enhance product functionality and improve the customer experience.

Mentorship & Guidance: Lead and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to drive product or service direction and alignment.

Effective Presentations: Deliver clear and effective presentations to both internal and external stakeholders to foster teamwork and align goals.

Technical Test Plans: Create comprehensive test plans and ensure code quality through automated test environments.

Support DevOps Teams: Collaborate with DevOps teams throughout the product release cycle to ensure quality and customer focus.

Incident Management: Lead efforts to identify and resolve IT service-related incidents, ensuring resilience and recovery objectives are met.
Skills and Experience Required

Educational Background: University graduate, preferably with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a top international institution.

Full Stack Engineering Expertise: Proven experience in full stack software engineering, including hands-on experience with AI technologies and solutions architecture for complex enterprise solutions.

Financial Services Experience: Extensive experience in the financial services industry (retail, wholesale, investment banking, wealth management, etc.).

Machine Learning Expertise: Proven expertise in developing and deploying machine learning models, including data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and optimization.

Programming Languages: Proficiency with Python, Java, Node.js, and Golang.

Frameworks: Experience with frameworks like Spring, Django, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.

Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

Scalable Solutions: Hands-on experience delivering scalable solutions within large enterprises, especially in the finance industry.

Presentation & Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to deliver presentations to various stakeholders.

Lean Startup Methodology: Knowledge of Lean Startup methodology and experience with incubators, accelerators, VCs, and startups is a plus.
