Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer at UST, you will be responsible for developing applications, selecting appropriate technical options, and optimizing performance by employing design patterns and proven solutions. You will work independently and collaboratively, guiding junior engineers and ensuring adherence to best practices.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Requirements & Design
- Understand functional/non-functional requirements from stakeholders (Architects, Product Managers, Clients).
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess the impact of user stories on the existing product.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to clarify and refine requirements.
- Create high-level and low-level design documents capturing class diagrams, attributes, and sequence diagrams.
- Seek review inputs from the Architect and incorporate feedback.
2. Product Development & Engineering
- Develop/support scripts (PowerShell, CI/CD automation) for configuration, build, and deployment tasks.
- Extend existing tools and automate parts of the build/deploy lifecycle.
- Configure CI/CD pipelines to enhance development efficiency.
- Conduct POCs for new technologies and share insights with the architecture team.
- Provide technical guidance for research, design, analysis, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions to identify and eliminate design issues.
- Build code in line with the design document and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
3. Product Testing & Deployment
- Review test cases and test plans for thorough coverage.
- Conduct integration testing and resolve defects.
- Ensure smooth deployment by troubleshooting development and production issues.
4. Product Documentation & Training
- Provide inputs for technical publications and documentation of key features.
- Train team members and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions.
5. Project & People Management
- Provide status updates on module development to the development lead.
- Mentor Software Engineers, conducting one-on-one coaching sessions.
- Ensure high performance among team members using FAST G&F methodology.

Required Skills & Knowledge
1. Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of product design & development.
- Experience in automation, CI/CD, and DevOps tools.
- Hands-on experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with Agile & Waterfall development methodologies.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and automation processes.
2. Business & Domain Knowledge
- Understanding of industry-standard business processes.
- Familiarity with cost basis applications and financial technologies.
- Experience in product lifecycle management & product strategy alignment.
3. Soft Skills
- Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to mentor and coach junior team members.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Additional Role Responsibilities (Product Owner Collaboration)
- Act as the liaison between the Broadridge product team, vendor development team, and other stakeholders.
- Define and prioritize product features based on business value and cost considerations.
- Create scenario-based user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Work with Business stakeholders to incorporate feedback and changes.
- Ensure that product enhancements align with Broadridge’s product strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience as a Product Owner in an Agile environment.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies & product management best practices.
- Experience with cost basis applications and financial systems.
