Main Duties:

Administration:

  • Maintain an efficient and accurate filing system (manual and electronic).

  • Keep complete and supported records of all Sales Agreements, Contracts, and Quotations.

  • Establish an efficient trace file to track business booked.

  • Submit sales report to the Director of Sales promptly.

  • Provide accurate reporting of booked business to the Sales Coordinator for monthly consolidation.

  • Knowledge of Goa Market and experience with Corporates, Travel, and Trade segments, especially based out of Delhi.

Customer Service:

  • Entertain and conduct hotel inspections for clients when needed.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with established clientele and explore new business opportunities.

  • Liaise with operational departments to ensure guest requests and expectations are met.

  • Handle guest and employee inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, ensuring follow-ups for unresolved issues.

  • Maintain positive interactions with guests and colleagues to foster strong working relationships.

Financial:

  • Achieve monthly and annual personal targets contributing to the sales revenue.

  • Develop and review Personal Business Plan linked to the Hotel’s Annual Business Plan.

Marketing:

  • Conduct extensive competitor research and maintain excellent product knowledge of the hotel.

  • Monitor and evaluate market trends (local, national, and international), ensuring the hotel's competitiveness.

  • Ensure high exposure for the hotel through direct sales solicitation via telephone, contracts, and written communication.

Operational:

  • Conduct professional sales calls using Hyatt’s Consultative Selling principles.

  • Plan sales calls with defined objectives.

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the hotel’s facilities, features, and services.

  • Continuously conduct competitor research and maintain excellent product knowledge.

  • Systematically and efficiently call on allocated accounts within the location, reporting findings to the Director of Sales.

  • Pre-qualify and target prospects using the hotel database and develop effective sales solicitation strategies.

  • Professionally conduct routine telemarketing activities to identify new business opportunities.

  • Meet and greet VIP guests upon arrival/departure.

  • Plan and make sales trips to current and potential clientele to explore new business opportunities.

  • Entertain and conduct hotel inspections for representatives/delegates as required.

  • Establish strong contacts to gather information regarding upcoming functions/events.

  • Assist Sales Buddy in following up on all matters in their absence.

  • Review and seek productivity improvements through process streamlining.

Personnel:

  • Ensure employees maintain awareness of hotel product knowledge, current promotions, policy changes, and internal communications.

  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of Sales employees, ensuring adherence to competency-based hiring practices.

  • Oversee punctuality and appearance of Sales employees, ensuring they meet grooming standards.

  • Maximize the effectiveness of employees through appropriate training, coaching, and mentoring.

  • Assist in conducting annual Performance Development Discussions and support employees' professional development goals.

  • Plan and implement effective training programs in coordination with the Training Manager and Departmental Trainers.

  • Encourage creativity and innovation, recognizing employees' contributions to the success of the operation.

  • Support the implementation of Hyatt’s People Philosophy, demonstrating and reinforcing the company’s values and culture.

  • Support the implementation of changes based on the Employee Opinion Survey.

Other Duties:

  • Attend and contribute to all training sessions and meetings as required.

  • Be knowledgeable about statutory legislation in employee and industrial relations.

  • Exercise responsible management and behavior, representing the hotel management team positively.

  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with relevant representatives from competitor hotels, business partners, and other organizations, especially travel agencies, local business groups, and airlines.

  • Adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations, including policies and procedures on computer resources, fire, hygiene, health, and safety.

  • Ensure high standards of personal presentation and grooming.

  • Adapt to changes in the Sales and Marketing function as dictated by the industry, company, and hotel.

  • Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Relevant degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism Management.

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of work experience as a Sales Manager or Sales Executive.

  • Skills: Strong problem-solving, administrative, and interpersonal skills are essential.
