About the Role
The Senior Engineering Manager is a senior management position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department. This role will focus on the design, implementation, and enhancement of application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The main objective is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities

API-Driven Processes:
-
Design and implement API-driven processes for various systems.
-
Evaluate and integrate API technologies such as websockets and webhooks.

Client Ecosystems & Onboarding:
-
Develop and maintain internal and external ecosystems for banking clients, focusing on client onboarding, enhancing user experience, and integrating core banking capabilities.

Team Management & Leadership:
-
Manage and develop multiple teams to accomplish established goals.
-
Conduct personnel duties such as performance evaluations, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
-
Ensure teams adhere to best practices and processes.
-
Structure teams for maximum impact and efficiency in alignment with business objectives.

Collaboration with Senior Management:
-
Prepare and present regular team/project reviews to senior management and business leaders.

Ensure system architecture and design meet quality and performance standards, working closely with end-users.

Risk Management & Compliance:
-
Ensure adherence to Citi documented policies and procedures, maintaining current desktop procedures and supporting documentation.

Oversee change management with appropriate controls, documentation, and approvals, including the implementation of new regulatory reporting requirements.

Disaster Recovery & Testing:

Manage and maintain disaster recovery plans and oversee appropriate testing.

Provide permit-to-operate for new applications.

Engagement & Communication:
-
Lead and deliver local staff forums, presenting global, regional, and location news to keep the team engaged in organizational progress.

Best Practices & Process Improvement:
-
Contribute to defining and implementing best practices for the department.

Ensure transparency and consistency across teams.

Risk Assessment:
-
Assess and manage risk when making business decisions, ensuring the firm's reputation is safeguarded.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies.

Qualifications
-
Technical Expertise:
-
Strong background in API design and integration architecture, especially within the context of wholesale banking or KYC.

Leadership Experience:
-
Proven experience leading or mentoring engineering teams, with a strong ability to influence and set technical direction.

Industry Experience:
-
15+ years of relevant experience, including 8-10+ years of managerial experience in the technology and banking sectors (preferred).

Analytical Skills:

Analytical, solution-oriented, with a commitment to high-quality standards and continuous improvement.

Education
-
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
