Role: Senior Team Leader – Industrial Lubricants
As Senior Team Leader – Industrial Lubricants, you will lead a team of technologists developing and supporting lubricants and metalworking fluids for the Castrol brand. This role involves:

Technical expertise in product development

Application support and testing services
-
Customer service and business growth support

Laboratory safety management
This position operates within a matrix organization, with some team members working in global product development teams.
Key Responsibilities:
???? Strategy & Technical Expertise:
-
Lead analysis & testing to troubleshoot customer issues and explore product performance.
-
Develop technical reports and new analytical/testing methods to support product claims.
-
Identify customer needs & industry trends and contribute to the global industrial technology strategy.
-
Represent bp at external events, technical lectures, and industry working groups.
-
Manage technical relationships with third-party service providers for oil analysis & testing.
-
Support portfolio optimization (raw material use & cost savings).
-
Ensure regulatory compliance with HSSE and product safety standards.
???? Implementation & Deployment:
-
Lead HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) within the CCTC (Castrol Customer Technology Center).
-
Provide product/application advice to sales teams & customers.
-
Deliver technical training to internal teams.
-
Support new product deployment by supervising oil trials, validating performance claims, and delivering technical presentations.
-
Offer customer support for quality incidents, working with global/local teams.
-
Integrate agility and digital tools into technology team workflows.
-
Drive capability development & technical expertise across teams.
-
Manage CAPEX projects to enhance laboratory capabilities.
-
Ensure compliance with product integrity & quality standards.
???? Monitoring & Project Management:

Track KPIs of the technical service lab.

Plan and prioritize projects in collaboration with senior managers & product teams.
-
Oversee budget and resource allocation (CAPEX, REVEX, OTC, external test houses).
-
Lead a cross-functional team, ensuring safe and responsible lab operations.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
Experience:
✔ University degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
✔ Extensive experience in lubricant formulations & applications.
✔ Operational experience in external customer management.
✔ Expertise in tribology (friction, lubrication, and wear studies).
