????️ About the Role
We’re seeking a DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer to join the Zelis I&E Business Unit. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our systems are scalable, reliable, and high-performing. From infrastructure automation to system monitoring, your impact will be felt across our engineering team and product stack.
???? What You'll Do
-
Gather and analyze system and application metrics for performance tuning and fault diagnosis.
-
Collaborate with developers to improve services via rigorous testing and release procedures.
-
Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
-
Develop sustainable, automated systems to reduce manual toil.
-
Balance reliability and feature development using defined SLOs/SLIs/SLAs.
-
Optimize and manage AWS infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles.
-
Lead and analyze load testing to detect bottlenecks and infrastructure needs.
-
Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines, managing deployments across QA, UAT, and production.
-
Build out and maintain monitoring/alerting tools (e.g., for uptime, latency, and error rates).
-
Document tribal knowledge to reduce knowledge silos and improve supportability.
-
Be part of an on-call rotation for production support.

Participate in blameless postmortems and identify areas for resilience improvement.
???? What We’re Looking For
-
2–4 years of experience in software development or DevOps/SRE roles.
-
Proficiency in Linux system administration within a cloud environment (AWS preferred).
-
Hands-on experience with:
-
Ruby on Rails or other web programming languages
-
Infrastructure automation tools (Puppet, Terraform, etc.)
-
AWS services like EC2, CloudFormation, RDS, ElasticCache, and S3
-

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
-
A deep curiosity for system performance, reliability, and automation.

Comfort working in Agile teams with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
