As an engineer, you'll spend up to 75% of your time collaborating with your team to develop modules and systems that serve as a living representation of best practices.
What You’ll Do:
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architectural discussions.
- Take responsibility for scaling, performance, and quality within your team.
- Establish best practices to help the team achieve success, continuously improving technology usage.
- Lead the adoption of these best practices around coding, design, quality, and performance within your team.
- Experiment with new and significant technologies and tools, driving adoption while measuring the impact of these innovations.
- Implement the long-term technology vision for your team.
- Serve as a technical mentor to your team, driving technology and tool choices, and taking responsibility for them.
- Design prototypes and solutions for existing and new problem spaces at Flipkart.
What You’ll Need:
- Strong decision-making skills in architecture and design, with in-depth knowledge of at least one tech stack, and the ability to identify alternative tech choices and trade-offs.
- Ability to recognize feasible alternatives and make decisions regarding the ideal selection of data structures and advanced algorithms.
- Exceptional system design and object-oriented design (OOD) skills, with an ability to create clean interfaces and work at the appropriate levels of abstraction.
- Strong coding skills, with the ability to guide teams through large refactoring efforts and improve coding standards across large codebases.
- Solid knowledge and experience working with a variety of multi-tier models.
- Experience in designing and building large distributed systems.
- Exposure to large-scale, persistent systems, including large databases.
- Familiarity with complete product development cycles – from inception to production, scaling, supporting new requirements, and re-structuring. Engineers should have seen the entire lifecycle.
- Experience in mobile product development, particularly with large data handling or transaction processing systems.
