Role Overview:

As an Accounts Payable Assistant at Better Cotton, you will play a key role in the daily operations of our Finance Team, supporting the world’s largest cotton sustainability initiative. Your role will involve working closely with the Accounts Payable Team, budget holders, and the Procurement Team on an international level.

You will report directly to the General Accounting & Controlling Manager and have the opportunity to learn through regular internal training.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounts Payable Process:

  • Process Daily Emails: Manage and process Better Cotton’s accounts payable emails.

  • Create Supplier Accounts: Ensure the creation of accurate supplier accounts in Salesforce/Certinia.

  • Collect Documents: Work closely with the Procurement Team and stakeholders to collect necessary documents for the Accounts Payable process.

  • Invoice Processing: Prepare and process payable invoices, ensuring accurate cost allocation in the Better Cotton system.

  • Submit Invoices for Approval: Regularly submit invoices for approval and ensure there is no backlog.

2. Other Finance Support:

  • Assist in implementing enhancement projects on Salesforce/Certinia.

  • Provide support for any other financial matters as requested.

3. Administrative Support:

  • Perform additional administrative activities as agreed with the Line Manager.


Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Finance Qualification: A recognized qualification in finance and accounting.

  • Experience: 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounts payable or related roles.

  • Microsoft 365 Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint).

  • Collaborative Skills: Proven ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and cultures.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and multi-task.

  • English Proficiency: Fluent in English (Better Cotton's operational language).


Desirable Qualifications:

  • Interest in Sustainability: A strong commitment to sustainability and the cotton industry.

  • Salesforce/Certinia Knowledge: Experience with Salesforce/Certinia is an asset.

  • Additional Languages: Proficiency in French is desirable.
