About the Team:

The Commercial Pre-Sales Team (North America) is a group of experienced Internet technologists focused on web performance, media, and cloud security solutions. The team works closely with customers, driving value through technology while maintaining high customer service standards.


About the Role:

As a Technical Account Manager, you’ll be a trusted advisor and technology expert for Akamai’s customers. You’ll support the sales cycle by providing technical expertise, designing solutions, and ensuring Akamai’s services align with the customer's business goals. You will play a crucial role in adoption, growth, and revenue retention.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Akamai-based solutions for customer business needs

  • Lead technical demos and proof-of-concept sessions

  • Serve as a technical thought leader and consultant to customers

  • Create and manage technical proposals ensuring accurate alignment to requirements

  • Stay updated on Akamai products, industry trends, and competitors

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with key customer stakeholders

  • Contribute to the sales strategy and support account growth


Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • Experience:

    • 3+ years in technical pre-sales/sales engineering

    • Knowledge of Internet and cloud technologies, media, web performance, and architecture

    • Strong expertise in cybersecurity and web security solutions

  • Skills:

    • Excellent client relationship and communication skills

    • Strong presentation and objection handling

    • Ability to assess technical needs and develop value-based solutions

    • Familiarity with web analytics and digital performance management
