The Leadership Development Consultant plays a crucial role in shaping the future of bp's leadership development strategies.

The Leadership Development Consultant is an individual contributor role within the Leadership and Culture (L&C) team, part of the Talent CoE. The role reports to the Head of Leadership Development and is responsible for scoping, designing, developing, and continuously improving strategic leadership development interventions for leaders at level E and below.


Responsibilities:

1. Portfolio Ownership:

  • Lead the SLL and FLL transitioning leaders’ offer, collaborating with operations and regional PC&C teams to ensure a top-tier delegate experience.

  • Partner with leadership development advisors to optimize digital learning experiences in Grow@bp.

  • Advise on the portfolio’s ability to support targeted people interventions at the regional/business level.

  • Manage a third-party budget of up to $2 million.

2. Strategy Development & Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead and evolve a systematic continuous improvement framework for leadership development.

  • Conduct research and data analysis to inform bp’s leadership development strategy, focusing on innovation and external perspectives.

  • Provide evidence-based recommendations for improving the leadership development offer.

3. Solution Scoping & Development:

  • Engage in performance consulting with business stakeholders to identify leadership capability gaps and opportunities.

  • Lead vendor interactions to ensure solutions align with strategic outcomes, are learner-centric, and cost-effective.

  • Deputize for the Head of Leadership Development when required.


What You Will Need:

Qualifications:

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Experience: At least 8 years of experience in talent management, leadership development, or HR, with a proven track record in directing complex projects and teams.

Skills:

  • Leadership Development: Strong track record in designing and delivering high-impact leadership development and learning programs.

  • Vendor Management: Experience in managing relationships and contracts with external partners to deliver high-quality talent solutions.

  • Project Management: Expertise in managing leadership development, talent management, or organizational change projects within large organizations.

  • Change Management: Ability to plan and manage change within global organizations.

  • Data & Analytics: Experience in developing data analysis and visualization solutions to inform decision-making.

  • Digital & Technology: Proficiency in leveraging digital tools to enhance solution delivery and drive improvements.

  • Communication & Influence: Strong communication skills for engaging with stakeholders and building partnerships across teams.
