About the Role: Software Engineer (Aladdin Engineering)

As a Software Engineer at BlackRock, you will be part of Aladdin Engineering, our proprietary investment operating system that integrates sophisticated risk analytics, portfolio management, and trading tools on a single platform.
Aladdin is used globally by BlackRock and external financial institutions, supporting millions of financial instruments and trillions in assets.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and enhance Aladdin’s global, multi-asset trading platform to improve investment decision-making.
-
Design and deliver scalable, high-performance software solutions that are fault-tolerant and concurrent.
-
Collaborate with multi-office, multi-country teams to build next-gen financial technology.
-
Work closely with product managers & business users to define and execute the product roadmap.
-
Apply agile methodologies to prioritize, design, and implement technical solutions efficiently.
-
Ensure software resilience & stability through code reviews, unit testing, regression testing, and DevOps practices.
-
Lead and mentor development teams, motivating and guiding them toward technical excellence.

Promote a culture of inclusion & diversity through hiring, leadership, and employee engagement.
Required Qualifications & Experience
-
B.E./B.Tech./MCA or other relevant engineering degree from a reputable university.
-
9+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in fintech or enterprise software.
Technical Skills & Experience
✅ Strong foundation in Core Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
✅ Experience with Spring, Hibernate, Maven, JUnit, and other open-source technology stacks.
✅ Expertise in building high-scale distributed systems using Kafka, MongoDB, Ignite, Redis.
✅ Solid experience in microservices architecture and API development (REST, Kafka, gRPC).
✅ Knowledge of relational databases and NoSQL databases (e.g., Apache Cassandra).
✅ Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
✅ Experience in leading development teams & complex projects.
✅ Exposure to DevOps tools (Azure DevOps preferred).
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

Cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud

AI & ML: Experience in AI-related projects or working in an AI research environment
