Team Overview
At BlackRock, you will work on Aladdin, an investment operating system used both internally and by external financial institutions. Aladdin provides:

The Aladdin Engineering team builds software that manages trillions of dollars in assets and processes millions of transactions daily for thousands of users worldwide.
Your Team: Database Hosting Team
The Database Hosting Team operates within Aladdin Engineering and is responsible for managing the reliability, stability, and performance of BlackRock’s financial systems.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Manage OLTP, OLAP, data warehousing platforms, and distributed No-SQL systems
✔ Collaborate with infrastructure teams, developers, and business teams across different time zones
✔ Automate database operations, monitoring, and maintenance
✔ Handle database configuration, security, disaster recovery, and audit management
✔ Troubleshoot critical system issues, conduct root cause analysis, and provide long-term solutions
Your Role and Impact
As part of the Database Operations Team, you will:
✅ Ensure data resiliency, security, and integrity
✅ Provide instantaneous data access for BlackRock and institutional clients
✅ Work with cutting-edge database technology and large-scale infrastructure
Operational Responsibilities
???? Support mission-critical enterprise database platforms
???? Manage database performance, scaling, and configuration
???? Troubleshoot system errors, outages, and incidents
???? Enhance automation and monitoring using Python, Perl, and Java
Project-Based Participation
???? Participate in major upgrades, migrations, and feature implementations
???? Contribute to performance tuning and engineering improvements
???? Enhance monitoring utilities and data capture processes
Required Qualifications
???? Education: B.E. / B.Tech / MCA or equivalent from a reputed university
???? Experience: 4+ years in Database Administration
Technical Skills
✔ Experience with database platforms: SAP Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, Apache Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Greenplum
✔ Exposure to cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud
✔ Proficiency in programming languages: Python, Perl, Java, Go
✔ Experience with automation tools: Ansible, AWX
✔ Proficient in Linux/Windows operating systems
✔ Strong command-line skills: grep, find, sed, awk, netstat
✔ Knowledge of performance monitoring metrics: CPU, memory, disk usage
