Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated L1 Kafka Administrator to join our 24×7 Managed Services Team. You will monitor and manage large-scale Kafka clusters, respond to incidents, and assist in routine operations while escalating issues to L2 as needed. This is a great opportunity for professionals passionate about Kafka and open-source technologies to gain hands-on experience in enterprise environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Kafka clusters for performance, availability, and security

  • Conduct routine checks on brokers, topics, and partitions

  • Respond to alerts and troubleshoot issues, escalating to L2 support when necessary

  • Assist with deployment and configuration of Kafka components

  • Maintain operational documentation and incident logs

  • Collaborate with L2 teams to understand issues and solutions

  • Ensure SLA compliance and smooth shift transitions

  • Provide first-level triage for Kafka-related issues

  • Participate in 24×7 rotational shifts


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience

  • 4–5 years of total industry experience preferred

  • Basic knowledge of Confluent Kafka architecture

  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix and basic system administration

  • Experience with monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana

  • Understanding of messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ)

  • Basic scripting skills in Bash or Python

  • Good understanding of networking protocols

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24×7 support model
